Every item on display is an individual one-off piece of work produced by Interchange Australia's Day Programs Creative Creations participants. There are some quite remarkable pieces on display and it is well worth visiting to take a look. Pieces will be swapped over throughout the month so that everyone has the opportunity to showcase their piece of work.
The name "A Million Dreams" was chosen by participants of the many wonderful programs offered at Interchange Australia, as we believe that there are no limits if you follow your dreams.
Some of these items are for sale with most proceeds going towards further development of Interchange Australia's Creative Creations art program. A portion of these proceeds will be donated towards the recent bush fire victims.
The Creative Creations art program is one of the many classes which runs on a weekly basis at each Interchange Australia campus.
Participants learn to express themselves through art, with classes being led by our highly experienced support staff, under the guidance of support worker and artist Bradley Dengate. We also bring in additional artists with different skill sets to lead specialist classes throughout the year.
At Creative Creations everyone is a budding artist, and is presented with the opportunity to develop their creative and artistic abilities using various media, through a combination of in-house workshops and external artistic projects.
Inspiration for a number of artworks developed is drawn from around the local communities in which our campuses are based, as well as Australian natural landscapes. We also recognise that each participant has differing tastes when it comes to art and we encourage everyone to express these preferences in the work that they do. You will see throughout this exhibition just how many differing tastes and abilities have been nurtured through this program.
Interchange Australia provides services designed to meet individual needs which enhance Independence, Health and Wellness, Socialisation and Leisure, Life and Learning and Education in both the Disability and Aged Care sectors.
One of the many services Interchange Australia provides is our Day Options program which runs Monday to Friday, 52 weeks per year. The Day Options program incorporates an extensive range of highly engaging, hands-on learning experiences, tailored to meet each individual's NDIS goals.
