Goulburn MP Wendy Tuckerman welcomed the progress made to date.
"The upgrade of the saleyards will make a huge difference to farmers and the livestock industry across South East NSW," Mrs Tuckerman said
"These works will mean more efficient saleyards, with improved visitor facilities and better animal welfare.
"This is good for business, good for visitors, and good for the animals."
In addition to the seating, the replacement of the livestock yards will include new loading ramps, fencing and pens with soft flooring.
The updated cattle handling facilities will provide a safer environment for workers as well as reducing stress on animals while elevated walkways will allow buyers better viewing of the cattle in the yard area.
The $5.2 million project is wholly funded from the NSW Government's Growing Local Economies program, established under the Restart NSW Fund, with Wingecarribee Shire Council delivering the project.
Wingecarribee Shire Mayor Duncan Gair said the upgrades "would help boost local industry through improved facilities and increased livestock throughput".
"The new seats are a big improvement already, and the design of other components are being progressed over the coming months will ensure this is a modern, sustainable and efficient facility," Cr Gair said.
"This project is further testimony of the government's confidence in our council to successfully deliver projects of Shire-wide importance."
