The team was made up of seven year five students aged 10 and 11, from Moss Vale and Bowral Public Schools.
The team has met weekly since June, building their robot and designing their strategy for the competition, with help from some parent coaches.
Ripley Coble, Grace Hayes and Izumi Unsworth worked on programming, Amirali Boostan and Cara Sims built the base robot, while Isaac Bertollo and Ruby Hayes worked on engineering the robot's attachments.
All the children contributed to the competition strategy.
The theme of the competition was architecture, so the team also took on a research project. They examined how architectural innovations could improve the experience of students and teachers who use the heritage-listed classrooms at Moss Vale Public School.
The Lego League is a global competition with 320,000 students aged nine to 16 competing. All except one member of the Iced Robos, Cara Sims, were rookies. To beat more experienced teams at this level was a great achievement.
