Council's corporate and community group manager Danielle Lidgard explained the intention of the competition.
"The festive season is almost upon us and we're keen to learn what's important to our Shire's young residents," she said.
"That's why we've asked that entries depict a Southern Highlands Christmas."
Prizes will be awarded to the top entry in each of the following categories:
- Children up to 4 years of age
- Children from 4 years of age to 6 years of age
- Children from 7 to 12 years of age
- Young adults from 13 to 17 years of age.
Entries will be judged based on creativity, presentation, originality and interesting or inspiring ideas.
"As well as receiving a gift card, winners will be invited to help the Mayor light the Community Christmas Tree in Bowral's Corbett Plaza on Friday 6 December," Ms Lidgard said.
Entries close at 4.30 pm on Friday, November 22.
