Five regions including the Southern Highlands, Wagga Wagga, Tamworth, Port Macquarie and the Blue Mountains will benefit from an expanded mobile pink slip trial from December.
The scheme will allow people to get a pink slip at a time and place that suits them.
Customers can take part in this initiative by making direct contact with a participating authorised pink slip provider.
Customers and providers can then agree on a call-out fee, time and safe location for the inspection.
Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Paul Toole said the roll-out of this trial would appeal to younger motorists "with the ability to save time and get an inspection done at home or at work".

"Better yet, the fee for the pink slip itself is a fixed amount, equivalent to what a customer visiting an authorised mechanic pays," Mr Toole said.
The mobile pink slip initiative follows the trial's success in Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong and the Central Coast when it started in April last year.
There were 4297 mobile pink slip services completed in the first 16 months.
