Heavy rain leading into the weekend, saw all semi finals games washed out, denying the HDCA and Shoalhaven opportunities to advance to the final. These sides then fronted on Sunday at Kevin Walsh Oval, Jamberoo.
Shoalhaven won the toss and elected to bowl. HDCA set an impressive target of 253 from their 50 overs, through disciplined batting on a difficult pitch in the first half of their innings.
Notable performances were Opener Matt Cuppitt with 35 off 66 balls, Tim Goldfinch with 44 off 62 and Cameron Pike with 55 off 66 balls faced, including five fours and one six.
The HDCA came out firing with the ball, taking two wickets in the first three overs. Alex Debs put on a bowling master class, finishing the day on 5 for 23 off 7 overs.
The match was officiated by local Angus Humphreys. Thank you to Angus and the HDCUA for the work that you continue to do to support cricket in the Highlands.
