Last year the Kollege of Knowledge Kommittee for Kids (4K) raised $145,000 with a profit of close to $120,000.
President of 4K Tony Springett is continually thankful for the support the organisation receives.
"My committee are baffled each year why our packed house of guests turn up and support this local special needs kids charity.
"Most businesses are only too happy to support our organisation, which has been operating for over thirty years."
Businesses and individuals can take sponsors packages or donate "goods in kind" or cash. Sponsorship starts at $400 and rises to major sponsorship at $5,000.
"From these donations we are able to raise money from the live and silent auctions," Mr Springett said.
"We then have up to 50 raffle items people can bid on. Last year we created a new record in profits from our entertainers. Australian and Rugby League star Wendell Sailor offered a package for a round of golf with four players (including himself) at Twin Lakes Golf & Country Club at Luddenham.
"This is a highly respected golf course and the highest bidder got this item for $5,000! We hope to continually fulfill our dreams and create another fantastic result."
This year is looking to be 4K's biggest event yet. In the past there have been some big names help out the organisation
"Some of the fond memories that I can recall include our celebrity soccer matches played in 1992 and 1993," Mr Springett said.
"The first match was skippered by leading Liberal candidate for Prime Minister, Dr John Hewson and the other captain, Rockstar and now author Jimmy Barnes."
It's not just bigger, celebrity auctions that pull in the big dollars. Generosity goes a long way at these events.
"We once saw auctioneer Nicko Johnson going to the bar and asking for a packet of 450g salt and vinegar chips," Mr Springett said.
"He auctioned them three times. Each time it was donated back, but Nicko raised a total of $3,600 from this packet. This is the sort of generosity and support the 4K gets."
Mainstay relationships have been forged throughout the events time. Mr Springett can't thank these businesses and organisations for their continued support. "We have several important partnerships," Mr Springett said.
"Firstly there is the partnership and creation of ASDESI (Autism, Spectrum, Disorder: Education, Support & Information) with Interchange Australia. This has been running for around ten years and we formed a Ladies Committee to promote and make money for the cause.
"Three years ago we formed CoverDrive and became partners with the Bradman Trust.
"Each school week, special needs kids from Moss Vale and Bowral High Schools' go to Bradman Oval and play different forms of sport. Numbers have increased to over 70 pupils.
"This has helped their lifestyles and commitment to school. We are very proud of what we have been able to create and how we can help local kids."
