This will be part the National Trust of Australia's (NSW) aim to strengthen its network in the Southern Highlands.
The day will include a focus on volunteer support for Retford Park and Harpers Mansion, and also for the Southern Highlands National Trust Branch.
Retford Park will host the Open Day to discuss what opportunities are available and where help is needed.
Both properties have significant gardens and are open to the public regularly. They also have a strong calendar of events which includes the likes of theatre, music, exhibitions, festivals and gardening workshops.
The Southern Highlands Branch of the trust is the largest regional branch in NSW and helps advocate for local heritage issues as well as delivering some extremely popular day trips throughout the year - all showcasing some of the intriguing heritage sites that surround the Southern Highlands and abroad.
A trust spokesperson said that all these activities took considerable time and effort to ensure they met the expectations of those who attend.
They said that while it took a concerted effort, it was also "enjoyable to meet with like-minded people all working hard to keep our heritage alive".
The Retford Park open day will be held from 2pm to 4pm.
Afternoon tea will be available as well as a guided tour of the garden and also a quick look inside the grand Victorian Italianate homestead that Mr James Fairfax AC so generously donated to the National Trust in 2016.
