After day two of the RSL shield Team Stafford have a nine shot lead going into the last round on Saturday.
In the triples Tim Blake, Dave Coltman and Kevin Stafford defeated Bob Crowley, Bob Edwards and Robin Staples 26-16.
And on the day, they deserved the win. At the half way mark they showed the way by having a 11-4 lead.
Then with four ends to play had the opposition on the ropes by leading 26-4.
On the last four ends team Staples took the opportunity to show what they are capable of picking up 12 shots but it was all to late with team Stafford running out ten shot winners.
In the singles Oscar Wahlin defeated Graham Hunt 26-19 to give team Stafford a boost. In a tight first half Wahlan had a small lead 15-11.
And in the remaining ends Wahlin was able to hold on for a seven shot win in a game that could have gone either way and which featured a good range shots from all players.
Other triples results:
Alistair McGhee, Paul Leverett and Josh Woodcock defeated Kel Limbrick, Viv Gear and Dave Riddell 39-14.
Owen Williams, Don Coleman and Bill Meredith defeated Keith Edwards, Kevin Jones and Peter Morales 28-13.
Gordon Lewis, Greg Lewis and Ashley Lewis defeated Stephen Della, Chris Forrester and Mick Flynn 21-14.
Singles results:
- Clive Neutze defeated Eric Willacy 33-25.
- Keith Edwards defeated Brian Porter 28-25.
- Russell Knight defeated Rick Reynolds 29-22.
The last and final round will be played this Saturday and this will be in pairs.
