Regardless of the season they can present a stunning sight to see.
Such an impressive winter sight was not lost on keen Yerrinbool photography Josina Metcalfe while travelling along the Hume Highway recently.
She snapped this scene while returning home on the highway after a visit with her family in Canberra.
This stunner reveals several things - let's face it pictures often aim to tell a story.
The silhouette of trees and cleared land are indicative of a rural scene while the bare branches of a deciduous tree in the foreground symbolise winter.
And as the old saying goes "red at night shepherd's delight...". Well this snaps promises a seasonal delight with fine weather.
