Two cold fronts on May 26-27 and May 29 saw temperatures plummet to below average for this time of year in the Highlands. The added strong winds contributed to the frosty conditions, making it feel colder than it was.
A high weather pressure system will see the weather temperatures start to stabilise, leading to potential rainfall on June 3-4.
Highlanders holding out for snow will be disappointed, with a spokesperson from the Bureau of Meteorology saying that snow is not on the forecast at this stage.
