Richard Denman and Mick Flynn defeated Brian Bailey and Clive Neutze 21-17.
On paper this always looked the match of the day.
In the first seven ends, tight bowls were played with Bailey and Neutze in front 6-3.
Denman and Flynn then applied some pressure scoring eight shots in three ends to have a 11-8 lead.
Denman and Flynn started tying the opposition in knots and the pair led 18-11 with four ends to play.
Which then had Bailey and Neutze in a mini fight back but Denman and Flynn won by the small margin of four.

In a first round match in the club triples, Ted McPhee, Dan Ticehurst and Bob Edwards defeated Bob Crowley, Kevin Jones and Glen Giese 24-13.
The coats were flying for team Edwards in the first half when they had a big lead 17-4.
Then team Giese became more in the match to narrow the gap.
Team Edwards then had focus on the winning post and finished with a 11 shot win.
