Barbecues across the Highlands will be lit and ready to dish out #DemocracySausages on election day.
The thought of devouring a sausage sizzle or two and a number of home baked goods are the saving grace of election day turnouts, a reward, one might say for doing your civic duty.
As always, Wingecarribee Shire is split in two with Whitlam and Hume sharing a portion of the Southern Highlands.
Here at the Southern Highland News, we've scoped out where you can get your cake and snags and eat them too on election day, whether you are voting in Whitlam or in Hume.
Whitlam:
- Avoca Community Hall: Get you vote on and grab a scrumptious cake or a snag while your at it to support the school P and C.
- Bowral High School: The P and C of Bowral High School will be cooking up a BBQ storm.
- Glenquarry Public School: The school will have a cake stall, with delicious cakes and a BBQ.
- Mittagong Pre School Kindergarten: Head to the pre-school if you have a sweet tooth and love a good cake stall.
- Mittagong Public School: The best of both worlds will be here, a cake stall and a BBQ run by the P and C.
- Moss Vale Public School: The P and C of the school will have a delicious BBQ running as well as a cake stall so voters don't go hungry.
- Robertson Public School: Robertson P and C will entice voters with a cake stall and BBQ.
Hume:
- Bundanoon Public School: The school will have voters licking their lips at the smell of snags sizzling.
- Hill Top Public School: Hill Top P and C are bringing their 'A' game for the federal election. There will be bacon and eggs rolls, sausage sizzles, drinks, cupcakes and whole cakes available for purchase. Vegetarians and those with gluten intolerance won't have to miss out either, with vegetarian and gluten free options available at Hill Top.
- Exeter Hall: Exeter public school will be on hand to feed rumbling stomachs with a cake stall and sausage sizzle.
Community halls across the electorates may have charity groups there to host barbecues.
Don't forget, the early bird gets the snag. So make sure you get in early so you don't miss out. Voting is from 8 am to 6 pm sharp.
