A Shorten Labor Government will commit $95,000 to upgrade facilities at the Old Potato Shed in Robertson to support the Southern Highlands Artisans Collective (SHAC).
Labor's funding means SHAC can procced with plans to build three additional artist studios, upgrade the kitchen, toilets, air conditioning and heating and provide a drop in space on the verandah.
This project will see the Old Potato Shed develop into a creative environment for emerging, special needs and existing artists to work under one roof and for the community and visitors to share in this creative working space.
SHAC is a community organisation committed to the development of the arts and creative industries in the Southern Highlands and Labor's investment in this project will foster the development of creative industry and bring more visitors to Robertson and the Southern Highlands.
Arts tourism is a significant economic sector in the Southern Highlands and provides thousands of local jobs.
