Hayden Andrew St Clair, 23, of Moss Vale, was found guilty after hearing in Nowra Local Court by Magistrate Gabriel Fleming to charges of stealing from a vessel in port and receiving/disposing of stolen property.
The charges stem from the theft of a variety of items from the boat in May last year, by St Clair and 33-year-old Bowral man Mitch Johnathan Allan.
The court heard the pair broke into the yacht moored in the Shoalhaven River between May 2-8, and took a number of epirbs (emergency position-indicating radiobeacon station), three-point safety harness, wet bag, binoculars and wire cutters among other items and then tried to sell some of the items.
Allan previously pleaded guilty to stealing from a vessel in port, two counts of receiving/disposing of stolen property, larceny, damaging property and two counts of making a false statement.
He was sentenced to two years' jail with a non-parole period of 12 months in Moss Vale Court by Magistrate Ian Cheetham and will be eligible for release on September 19.
St Clair was placed on a community corrections order for 12 months.
