Dozens of scheduled NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) hazard reduction burns are being carried out across the state today, including burns near Werombi, Hill Top and Dharawal National Park.
The NSW RFS said on its Facebook page that controlled burns were being conducted to reduce the risk of bushfires to people and their properties.
"Please only call 000 if you see an unattended fire, not just because you can see or smell smoke," they said.
People who suffer from asthma are urged to stay indoors as much as possible while hazard reduction fires are conducted.
