Ruby Blake led the way for the club, securing a silver medal in the Under 10 girls' long jump and bronze in the 400m, while Pearl Stravoskoufis bounded her way to bronze in the Under 9 girls' high jump.
Both athletes set new personal bests in their events.
While Sydney's weekend downpour led to the cancellation of several long and triple jump events, Bowral's athletes - no strangers to inclement weather - handled the conditions with aplomb and put in some strong performances at the carnival.
Top ten placings were achieved by:
- Ruby Blake (Under 10) second long jump, third 400m, fourth 800n
- Pearl Stravoskoufis (Under 9) third high jump, fourth 60m hurdles
- Abbey Wallace (Under 13) fifth high jump
- Benji Lee-Billinghurst (Under 11) eighth javelin
- Matthew Arregui (Under 11) ninth 200m
- Matthew Elliott (Under 17) tenth javelin
The outstanding results over the weekend cap off a great year for the Bowral Little Athletics club, which included a State Relays title and NSW record, a Berrima District Sports Award for Junior Team of the Year and a surge in enrolments.
