Bob will be sharing some of his experiences with the BirdLife Southern Highlands branch, including being apart of the group which recorded the barn owl ever in Bhutan.
Since then almost 50 new species have been recorded, making it one of the most interesting bird watching spots on the planet.
Bhutan is a tiny Buddhist kingdom on the eastern edge of the Himalaya Mountains famous for its monasteries, fortresses and dramatic landscapes from steep mountains and valleys.
It is also a popular birding destination with more than 700 species to be seen despite being landlocked and about 6 per cent of the size of Australia.
You can hear about Bob's adventures at the BirdLife Southern Highlands on March 26 at the East Bowral Community Centre at 7:30pm.
