A workshop entitled, Take a Breath and Celebrate You, was held at Moss Vale Senior Citizens and Community Centre March 6.
The workshop focused on teaching women techniques for relaxation, stress relief and improved happiness.
Community worker at Highlands Community Centre, Nicole Blaik, addressed the participants of the day.
"Today is about you," Nicole said.
"I want to acknowledge all of the work women do for their family and the blood, sweat and tears that goes into everything they do.
"The saying goes that you can't pour from an empty cup and today is about filling that cup."
Nicole wants women to take the opportunity to give something back to themselves for NSW Women's Week.
"Mothers and carers do a significant amount of unpaid work and need to take time out to focus on their mental health."
The day was filled with gentle stretching and breathing exercises, lessons on how to use colour for relaxation, the use of a wellness journal, as well as health tips and tricks.
Nicole also runs a women's group called, My Life My Dreams, which focuses on female empowerment.
"We need to acknowledge the contribution that women make to society, without them things would fall apart," she said.
