Australian Cattle Dog mix, Letty, needed a helping paw and found one in Wingecarribee Animal Shelter.
Letty was abandoned in the bush with her two siblings at 14 weeks old.
Luckily, the puppies were discovered by council rangers. The rangers named the three puppies after characters in The Fast and the Furious movie franchise.
While the other two puppies found new homes in late 2018, Letty was not so lucky.
After almost a year spent waiting for a family, Letty was finally adopted February 25.
During Letty's stay at the animal shelter, the community rallied behind her and showered her with treats and toys. Animal-loving volunteers filled Letty's days with long walks, cuddles and activities.
To mark Letty's first birthday in December, no expense was spared to celebrate the day. Letty enjoyed copious amounts of homemade pupcakes, presents and games for her birthday.
As part of her routine at the shelter, Letty undertook weekly training with FOWAS Dog Trainer, Michele Martin.
Wingecarribee Shire Council has a minimal euthanasia policy. This policy has enabled Letty and others like her to find a home and live a full life without the fear of euthanasia.
