InfoFest aims to showcase as many pathways offered by TAFE NSW with staff on hand to assist with enrolments, career advice and campus tours.
TAFE NSW regional general manager Kerry Penton said the Jobs of the Future report predicted significant growth in full-time employment opportunities in the aged and disabled care and childcare sectors locally, with other careers such as project builder and chef, tipped to enjoy employment growth.
It comes as a recent study by TAFE NSW of Southern NSW forecasted jobs growth in the health and community services sectors over the next two years.
“To provide those services effectively, we need highly qualified professionals and TAFE NSW is ideally positioned to train the workforce of tomorrow and offers a range of qualifications across industry growth areas including Aged Care, Early Childhood Education and Business, Leadership and Management – just to name a few,” she said
“TAFE NSW is Australia’s largest education and training provider and will continue to innovate and invest in courses to meet the skills needs of the Southern Highlands region.”
With more that 1200 face-to-face and online courses available for 2019, Ms Penton encourages the community to visit TAFE NSW to learn how to upskill or reskill to pursue employment opportunities. TAFE NSW currently provides courses for nine out of the 10 professions expected to have the greatest jobs growth over the next five years.
