Although there won’t be as much rain as we had earlier in the week.
On Tuesday night, there was up to 30ml of rain in about half an hour in some areas of the Highlands.
There was about 30ml of rain in 30 minutes at the Greenstead weather station just south of High Range, and at Moss Vale there was also 30ml in 30 minutes.
Meanwhile at Fitzroy Falls there was about 25ml of rain in 15 minutes.
This was a large amount of rain but not quite a record. according to Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) senior forecaster Jake Phillips.
“I’m not aware of any records. The Southern Highlands receives a fair bit of rain,” Mr Phillips said.
“There was definitely a pretty heavy burst of rain. We did have thunderstorm warning.”
Mr Phillips said there was a strong chance there would be more rain on Friday.
“Friday is looking like it may be a stormy day,” he said.
“Whether we’ll see bursts of [Tuesday’s] magnitude is debatable.
“What we’re seeing is the atmosphere has a lot of humidity and heat those are key of thunderstorm development."
On Friday the outlook is cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of showers, most likely in the afternoon and evening.
There is also a chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon and early evening.
The temperature is predicted to reach a top of 25 degrees.
There may also be light northeasterly wines between 15 to 20 km/h in the morning then tending northwest to northeasterly in the middle of the day.
However clearer skies are predicted over the weekend.
On Saturday the outlook is mostly sunny with a 30 per cent chance of a shower.
There may also be northerly winds of 15 to 20 km/h becoming light during the morning.
Meanwhile on Sunday the forecast is a mostly sunny morning with a 40 per cent chance of showers in the afternoon and evening.
There is also a chance of light winds.
This will continue into next week, with a cloudy day and a 30 per cent chance of a shower predicted for Monday.
Light northeasterly winds of 15 to 20 km/h are also likely during the day.
