The IMB Bank Community Foundation (ICF) has donated up to $500,000 to community groups every year for the past 19 years, and as it enter the 20th year of support, the ICF is calling for submissions for 2019 recipients to share in the increased funding.
Over the past 20 years, the ICF has allocated much-needed funds to small community groups such as school, sporting, charity and volunteer organisations; plus larger bodies such as Lions Clubs Australia, Rotary Australia, Vision Australia, Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, Scouts Australia, the SES, St Johns Ambulance, and Royal Life Saving Australia.
IMB Bank CEO Robert Ryan urged all local community groups, not-for-profit organisations, and charities (big and small) to consider applying.
“In 2019, The Community Foundation will celebrate 20 years of funding community projects, next year’s projects will bring our total funding amount to $10 million. To date, we have supported nearly 700 projects and we are very proud to have seen first-hand the direct benefits these projects have provided to their local area,” Mr Ryan said.
“We want to hear from people or groups with an idea to support their community, whether they are new projects in need of seed funding, or projects already in operation that are looking to expand.”
Projects previously supported have ranged from the establishment of recycling programs and Men’s Sheds, through to public walkways, school gardens, youth driver training, mental health first aid training and increased security for victims of domestic violence.
“We know many incredible groups in our target areas are working hard to improve their communities and the people living in them. Sometimes, all that’s needed to turn a great idea into a tangible benefit is the funding,” Mr Ryan said.
Applications close on February 28, 2019. Community groups are encouraged to go to www.imb.com.au/communityfoundations to apply.
