Wingecarribee Shire councillors have voted to reduce parking fines from $112 to $80.

Councillors determined its position on a state government decision to reduce fines at the ordinary meeting on Wednesday, December 12.
Councillor Ken Halstead said the fines were excessive and councillors should decrease the fee.
Other councillors had concerns that $80 was not enough of a deterrent and some motorists would be encouraged to park in the same spot for longer.

The decision will cost council about $85,000.
Councillors for the motion include Grahame Andrews, Larry Whipper, Ken Halstead, Gordon Markwart and Graham McLaughlin.
Councillors against the motion included Ian Scandrett, Garry Turland, Peter Nelson and Duncan Gair.
