SHYAC’s production of The Addams Family (young@part), which delighted audiences at the Mittagong Playhouse in October, has received six nominations in the awards.
- School youth nominations CAT Award 2018 – The Addams Family
- Best costume design for a school/youth production – Gillian Clark
- Best youth actor in a featured role in a musical – Travis Neale as Uncle Fester and Bejae Ingate as Gomez Addams
- Best director of a school/youth musical – Mandy Bransgrove
- Best production of a school/youth musical – The Addams Family
SHYAC manager and production director Mandy Bransgrove said the group was thrilled to have been nominated this year.
“The cast and crew worked tirelessly on the production – it was a huge community effort,” she said.
“The children lit up the stage at every performance. It’s incredibly exciting to watch young people learn new theatrical skills, refine their craft and display such resilience, commitment and enthusiasm.”
Established in 1991, SHYAC promotes the learning of new skills, friendship, emotional growth, gaining confidence, understanding teamwork and having a brilliant time doing it all in an environment where it’s safe to be yourself.
