Lorelei recently had a kidney transplant and it wouldn't have been possible without the help from Ronald McDonald House.
Lorelei’s mother, Jennifer Murko said Ronald McDonald House has provided the nicest, home away from home, not just for Lorelei but for the whole family.
“They’re (RMDH) so inclusive and caring,” Jennifer said.
“Their facilities are second to none and it makes the hospital stay much easier to deal with.”
Jennifer said the facilities at RMDH had Lorelei’s health coming along in “leaps and bounds”.
“Lorelei’s treatment is going really, really well,” she said.
“Her kidney has settled in nicely and she’s looking forward to coming home a little bit more.”
It wasn’t just the help from RMDH that got the Murko family through this difficult time. The Bowral Cricket Club has supported the family in every way possible.
“Bowral Cricket Club [members] have been like a family to us,” Jennifer said.
“As soon as they knew of the chronic illness that had affected our family, they stepped up in a big way.
“Friends dropped meals off, they picked our son Xander up from school, took him to training then brought him home or they let him stay the night.
“Nothing has been too much trouble, they’ve really helped the family out, it’s just been lovely.
