This road is brightly lit for the early morning travellers through Robertson. Keen photographer Boris Zemljacenko snapped this picture at the railway crossing recently. The street lights looked brighter than ever as they shone through the fog at 6.30am. The lights of oncoming vehicles created a slightly eerie image in the distance.

Clouds, fog and mist droplets are small enough that when light interacts with them its wave nature is significant. Light is not simply refracted or reflected at the drop surface. Instead, its waves are scattered or diffracted in all directions.
