The Highlands District Cricket Association competition kicks off this weekend with the seniors back in action.
Hill Top will return to the top grade this season and will face reigning premiers Wingello in round one of the 2018/19 season.
The match will be played at Lackey Park.
It has been two seasons since the Kookaburras have competed in the top grade and captain Alex Debs said the players were excited to be back in first grade.
“Everyone’s coming back a little bit more mature this year and I can see everyone taking on a little bit more responsibility,” he said.
Debs said they had a core group of experienced players along with a few new faces in the squad and would return playing a different brand of cricket. Josh Whitfield, returning from a six month stint in England, will be a key player for Hill Top early in the season.
Debs said they would also rely on the experience of Jimmy Debs, Simon Reid and Cameron Arlington.

“None of us have played together for three years. It might take awhile for us to gel and if we find that groove we’ll be pretty hard to beat.”
In the other first grade match, Bowral under the leadership of new captain Dave Spies will take on Robertson-Burrawang with Nathan Wright as captain.
There will be six second grade teams in the competition this season.
Mittagong and Bundanoon will face off in round one at Welby Oval.
In another Robertson v Bowral clash, the two sides will play at Hampden Park.
The final second grade match will be played between Wingello and Bowral Blues at Bill O’Rielly Oval.
