The operation, which ran from midnight on Friday to midnight on Monday, targeted speeding, drink driving, mobile phone use, seatbelt offences as well as helmet offences for motorcycle riders.
Across the Hume District Police and highway patrol teams, officers conducted 8645 breath tests, detected 217 speeding offences, issued 100 other infringement notices and four seat belt offences.
High-range drink driving
A 46-year-old female was charged for high-range drink driving over the October long weekend.
The driver was stopped by police for a breath test on Clearview Street in Bowral at about 10.20pm on Saturday, September 29.
According to Southern Highlands police, the woman allegedly blew a reading of .163.
The driver was issued with a court attendance notice to attend Moss Vale Local Court on October 16.
Multiple-vehicle crash on Hume Motorway
A multiple-vehicle crash closed two of three northbound lanes on the Hume Motorway at Wilton on Monday afternoon.
The crash caused significant delays for motorists, with queues of about 13 kilometres for motorists.
The crash affected motorists from Willow Vale to Wilton, and traffic further along the motorway from Yerrinbool to Douglas Park.
Emergency services, traffic crews and a tow truck attended the crash site.
