The three junior teams gathered to recognise some of the outstanding players for 2018. It was a great season for the under-14s who won the Football South Coast division two competition.
The team won its grand final with a 3-1 victory over Helensburgh.
Broadie Gentles found the back of the net twice with Frankie Nesci also scoring.
Harrison Ash was named man of the match.
HFC coach Craig Ash said it had been a tough few years for the boys and was glad to see their hard work rewarded.
The team finished second in the regular season behind Unanderra, a team that lost both its finals matches.
“We were probably favourites to win the game but Helensburgh was very organised and very competitive as you would expect,” Ash said.
“It was tough for us. We dominated the first half but the boys were frustrated at not getting any goals.”
The under-16s finished third but lost their first final and while the under-13s didn’t make the finals they had a strong second half of the season.
