In Partnership with Two Good Co and Charter Hall, Dignity will provide meals inspired by renowned chefs including Maggie Beer, Neil Perry and Colin Fassnidge. The collaborative food relief program provides quality, pre-prepared take-home meals that can be picked up from two locations: PCYC Mittagong and Anglicare Goulburn.
Dignity CEO Suzanne Hopman said the meals were available to anyone “doing it tough in our communities.”
“Sometimes all it takes is a larger than expected electricity bill or an illness that prevents someone from working and things can get out of control quickly. We know that the meals we provide will help relieve some of the pressure,” Ms Hopman said.
“We would also like to recognise rural farmers from our extended region, and the dreadful position they are in due to the drought. We invite them to also make use of the service,” she said.
Volunteers and donations coordinator Sherin Fishwick said the fridges at each site will be stocked consistently and meals can be picked up without any need for paperwork. “You can just come down and pick up what you need. There’s no need to sign anything in or out, just come in and take what you need,” she said.
Dignity has distributed more than 150,000 meals this year so far and was the winner of the 2018 Southern Highlands Local Business Awards and a finalist in the social change category of the Telstra Business Awards.
