In a top of the table clash, Bowral edged out Mittagong 3-2 last week.
Bowral coach Lindsay Leneve said it was a “tough match”.
“Mittagong are a very good side,” he said.
Sam Chambers again played well and “ran all day” while goalkeeper Jack Howard performed well to keep Bowral in the game.
Bowral’s next match will be against MossyWang on Wednesday night.
While their opponents are a young team, Leneve said they had continued to improve each week and they were not assured of an easy win.
He said the key to another victory would be sticking to their structures and playing the game at their pace.
“Our defensive structures are quite good at the moment and in attack we’re moving the ball around well.. We just have to try to play consistently heading into finals.”
In the other men’s match last week, MossyWang went down to Robertson 1-0.
While it was not the result they were after, MossyWang captain Ash Druery said it was still a good performance from his side.
“We’ve got a young team this year and we’ve got a lot we have to learn,” he said.
With the men’s competition now nine-a-side, Druery said the all travelled much quicker and there was a lot more space on the field.
Since the start of the year, the MossyWang team has continued to improve and Druery said it showed in the match against Robertson where “everybody gelled as a team”.
Now up against Bowral, Druery said they hoped to cause a couple of upsets before the finals started.
He said they would try to play “tight hockey and mark up” in the hopes Bowral would “self destruct” in Wednesday night’s clash.
“We’ve just got to frustrate them. That’s the thing we need to do.”
