The Blues enjoyed a 20-10 win over Narellan on Saturday which secured them fourth spot on the second division ladder and a place in the finals.
City Kangaroos, Bowral and Narellan all finished the 2018 season on 14 points.
After a tough loss the week before to minor premiers Warragamba, Bowral got a few players back but were still down on numbers.
“We just wanted to hang in there and get the win,” Blues captain Mark Williams said.
“Our ball control in the first half was a bit sloppy but our defence was good to only let in one try. In the second half our ball control was better and we completed more sets.”
Todd Fairbairn, Lachlan Dickson and Williams all scored for Bowral in Saturday’s win.
The Blues will now take on Narellan again in the second division elimination final at Appin Park on Saturday afternoon.
Williams said ball control would be a key focus for Bowral heading into the match.
“If we hold onto the ball we score points and if we hold the ball and don’t have to defend two or three sets in a row we’ll be fresher in defence.”
Making the finals has been a goal for the side from the start of the season and Williams said it was a “very special” achievement for the club to perform so well after a few years out of the Group 6 competition.
“It’s a big effort to come from no team to get into the finals.” Kick off for the match will be at 1.15pm.
