The second annual Burrawang Cricket Collectors Fair is a must-see for any sports fanatic or collector.
Some of Australia’s leading cricket collectors, historians, writers and memorabilia experts will hold talks, displays and workshops on a wide range of cricket-related subjects.
This will include ceramics, cards, caps, bats, postcards, photographs, badges, silverware, ephemera and memorabilia.
Event organiser Andrew Leeming said the fair would spark the interest of anyone, not just those who were passionate about cricket.
“We are also trying to appeal to antiques collectors and people interested in fine arts more than sports fanatics, as the exhibition has been curated to show the cultural and social history of Australia and cricket,” Mr Leeming said.
“There are some very beautiful objects on display.”
He said the exhibition highlights would include:
- Monty Noble’s ivory cane handle from the 1899 Ashes series
- Harold Larwood’s boots from the Bodyline 1932/33 series
- Victor Trumper’s 1907 Australian cap
- Rare Golden Age (19th century) silver, ceramic, and glassware
- Baggy green caps from the 1948 Invincibles Tour of England
- A variety of cricket-related items from World War One and World War Two
- A variety of personal items from Keith Miller’s personal albums and collection, covering his war service and the 1948 tour of England.
