The opposition, Warragamba was defeated 34-28.
Coach Matt Burke said he was pleased with the result given Moss Vale’s circumstances.
“We were hit pretty hard with injuries in the last month and have a whole new side, so any win, we’re happy with,” Burke said.
“The boys didn’t give up at any stage of the game.”
Moss Vale’s Cody Tozer carried out a hat-trick during the game.
While Burke was impressed with how the team had played, he admitted there were areas for improvement.
“We dropped the ball a few times when we should have been scoring tries,” he said.
Moss Vale will compete against Camden on July 22.
Burke said a lot of preparation would need to happen before the game.
“Camden are leading the competition at the moment,” he said.
“It’s going to be a tough game,” Burke admitted.
