The Southern Highlands Botanic Gardens is no different. We value our stakeholders highly and have worked hard to mean something important to them and to hold desirable qualities.
We respect the relationship we have with all the people we know; those who visit the garden; those who do work for us; those who take an interest in us and the environment. We reach out to, and want to include and welcome all interested groups, neighbours and visitors from all walks of life, young and old.

- SHBG committee
As a botanic garden we have a responsibility to advance the knowledge of horticulture, conservation and sustainability to the wider community and our Vision Statement reflects these ambitions. Our focus on education and research in native and exotic flora of the Highlands will help us to impart our knowledge on all who visit the gardens and, we hope, will excite our visitors through their experience.
Our garden focuses on the uniqueness of the four seasons, giving seasonal character to the display of native and exotic flora of the region in a setting enhanced by public art and managed according to environmentally responsible principles.
We aim to excel in our activities and to provide unrivalled botanic displays, give visitors memorable artistic and cultural experiences and, effectively, be a role model in providing visitor experience and in managing our relationships, both personal and institutional. This is a garden for the community, by the community and we are hopeful that these core values reflect the high expectations people may have of us in the delivery of this important project.
