Bowral and District Hospital general manager Joel Bardsley said they had recruited two nurses for the new renal service, which he anticipated would begin in the first week of July.
“Bowral and District Hospital is committed to delivering a safe and high quality renal service to the community,” he said.
“The service will be located in the short stay unit, with a new chair and equipment. It will complement the $50 million NSW Government-funded upgrade to the hospital, which received a $15 million boost in the 2018 Budget for a new emergency department.”
Days of operation for the new renal service will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Mr Bardsley said it was hoped the service would grow to six days a week as more staff were recruited.
”We continue to look forward to working with patients and the community to enhance the unit.”
