Fairbanks was part of a Classic Wallabies match held in Toowoomba.
He said it was the second game he had been a part of since he finished playing professionally.
Fairbanks has also had a run with the Wilted Tulips.
The Classic Wallabies match was against the Darling Downs over-35 Barbarians. There were some very well known names playing in the Wallabies side including Nathan Sharpe (captain), Luke Burgess and Lote Tuqiri. The team was coached by former Wallabies back James Holbeck.
Fairbanks said he had enjoyed the experience and would consider playing more matches in the future.
He played rugby union in Australia and Japan for more than 20 years and during his career, represented the Australian Rugby Sevens team and toured with the Australian Wallabies and Australia A squads.
