Back at home, the Blues enjoyed a 42-12 win over Narellan Jets.
Bowral registrar Peter Howard said it was one of the team’s best performances this year.
“They controlled the game from start to finish. They played to the conditions best and the forwards played really well,” he said.
Despite the chilly conditions, a large crowd turned up to Loseby Park on Saturday night to cheer the Blues on.
With plenty of points scored, Ben Lips, Robert Carter, Todd Fairbarin, Jack McRae, Mark Williams and Luke Carlon (two) all scored for Bowral.
Fairbairn also finished with seven goals for the game.
Playing at halfback, Howard said Fairbairn had what he described as “one of those really scheming games”.
“They [Narellan] had a couple of really big forwards and they were pretty hard to handle. Todd got in behind them and set up a lot of good plays.”
Howard also praised fullback Lachlan Dickson’s performance in Saturday night’s game.
“He had a great game. He organised the defence extremely well from behind and came to the line when he needed to.”
He said McRae, Danny Wright and Mark Williams all played well against Narellan.
This weekend it will be a local derby as Bowral takes on the Bundanoon Highlanders on Saturday afternoon.
Both teams sit on eight points on the second division ladder, with Bowral in third spot just ahead of the Highlanders in fourth.
