The purpose of Challenge House is to enable adults with disabilities who are living with their parents to transition to independent living.
Imperial Hotel owner Trent Johns said he was pleased to be able to support a worthy cause. “I like the fact that every cent goes to the house,” Mr Jones said. “It’s nice to keep it in the community.”
Challenge Southern Highlands general manager Tony McElhinney said the funds were a “tremendous help”. “It takes $240,000 a year to maintain the house. We get government support, then we need to make up the rest,” Mr McElhinney said.
“It’s a long-term project. We need the support of businesses like the Imperial Hotel.” Visit challengesh.org.au/services/challenge-house for more information or to make a donation.
