And now, the acclaimed Australian sculptor, who is also a Highlands resident, has put his Mittagong house up for sale.

DiJONES sales agent Daniel Garnett said Mr Ball and his wife purchased the property in 2006 and had recently moved to Wildes Meadow.

The property is on the edge of Lake Alexandra.

“David has added sculptural touches to the lakeside property,” Mr Garnett said.

“He renovated the home, designed and built the steel arbour, the expansive curved deck with a magic view and made the quirky cubbyhouse, which features multiple storeys, ladders, trapdoors, a veranda, turret and its own sandpit.”

Mr Ball was most recently co-curator of last month’s Hillview Sculpture Biennial where his massive sculpture, Biosis, was exhibited and sold.

Like his work, Orb, which took out the 2017 Sculpture by the Sea, Biosis is an impressive sculpture constructed in corten steel.  

The four-bedroom home, with an enormous master bedroom, features an expansive wraparound entertainer's deck overlooking the lake and is accessed by impressive 3.3 metre double-glazed cedar sliding doors.

The property at 60 Alfred Street, Mittagong, will be auctioned onsite on Saturday, June 30 at 3.00pm on site and has a price guide of $990,000.
