Southern Highlands Hockey Incorporated president and Mittagong Lions player Paul Sabatier described this as a “disappointing score,” but credited his competition for their hard work.
“Mittagong is a very good team and the MossyWang goal keeper did an amazing job,” Sabatier said.
Kyle Jesshope was the MossyWang goalkeeper and was voted best on ground for his performance by the umpires.
Scores locked at 5-0 in Mittagong’s favour by half-time and it only went up for the team from there.
Sam Goodfellow scored Mossywang’s only goal in the second half.
Bowral had a 5-2 victory over Robertson.
Roberston coach Brandon McDonald said both teams played well, but Robertson missed a lot of chances.
“We hit the post four times and the goalie’s helmet,” McDonald said.
“It was a good game. Bowral played well and had a high-quality striker, Glenn Turner.”
Roberston will go head to head with Mittagong next week while Bowral take on MossyWang.
