With plenty of community support for the home team, the Stars had mixed results in Saturday’s games.
The club held a community day to thank its sponsors and show the Highlands community what the sport of baseball is all about.
Wollondilly MP Jai Rowell threw the first pitch.
In the division one, SSBC Wyld Stallyns went down to Mets Flying Squirrels 9-5.
It was almost an action replay of the game from the week before for the division one Stars.
The match started with a tight first innings before the Mets jumped away in the second and third innings.
This time, however, the Wyld Stallyns kept themselves in with a chance right to the very end, just falling short with the last bat.
A copybook opening innings from pitcher Dylan Hillyer, knocked the first three Mets batters over in swift succession.
Richard Tomlin's recent big hitting form continued, scoring two runs off a big double base hit to left outfield.
The combined last innings batting performance of the Stars forced a late pitching change by the Mets to consolidate the win.
In division two, the SSBC Bandits defeated the Mets Oreos 8-3.
It was a routine day out for the Bandits who seized control while in the field early, then steadily ticked the scoreboard over with some strong batting.
Ty Jones put in a strong fielding and a strong batting effort in his debut for SSBC and it was another fine complete game on the mound for Andrew Lewis, who kept the Mets batters guessing all the way.
An enormous three base hit from Mat Shaw kick started the Stars' batting.
