The singer songwriter who first auditioned for the hit television show back in 2013, returned to The Voice stage to prove she was not going to give up on her dreams.

Michelle, 36, said she felt extremely overwhelmed the moment the lights hit her face and she saw the large crowd.
The musician first fell in love with the performing arts at a young age – she started performing, singing, playing the guitar and writing songs at the age of 14.
After a break from performing due to a fibromyalgia diagnosis, the determined musician felt lucky to have returned to the stage, whether she turned chairs or not.
“I didn’t think I’d be able to perform at that level ever again,” Michelle said.
When she didn’t turn chairs in 2013, the judges said they felt she hadn’t connected to Chris Isaak’s, Wicked Game.
Michelle has written original songs since she was a teenager and said she found it hard to connect to a song that wasn’t her own story.
Although the singer admitted her 2018 audition wasn’t her best performance, she believed she went in a completely different direction and expressed the emotion she needed to turn some chairs.
“I chose a song that I could have could have written about my own story,” Michelle said about her song choice, Fleetwood Mac’s Landslide.
Judges Boy George and Joe Jonas both turned their chairs to see who was behind the voice they saw so much potential in.
Although Michelle was hoping Delta Goodrem turned her chair, she felt extremely lucky to have turned one chair, let alone two.
“I wanted Delta to turn because she was there the last time I auditioned and didn’t turn,” she said.
“I also really love Kelly because she’s sassy and she’s very passionate about everything.”
Although she knew her stepdaughters would have liked her to choose Team Joe, Michelle felt Team George would be the best place for her.
“George is outside the box and I feel like I’m outside the box,” she said.
“I feel like I’ve never fit in.
“One of the best things about why I am so happy to be on team George is because all the other contestants on the team are like me – big hearts and slightly left of centre.”
