Retford Park and Friends of the Wingecarribee Animal Shelter (FOWAS) are thrilled to partner together to host a Dogs’ Day Out.
Retford Park Scott Pollack manager said as Mr James Fairfax AC was an avid dog lover, he would be thrilled to know his Bowral property was being used for enjoyment of the community and their four-legged friends.
“I want to open the park up to the public to relate to the history of the park and share what James’ life was about and he loved his dogs,” said Mr Pollack.
The event will run from 10am to 3pm and will include a historic tour of the property.
Highlights will include vendor stalls, dog competitions and obedience demonstrations.
Entry will cost $10 for an adult, $8 for a concession of FOWAS member, and $5 for a child.
A family ticket for two adults and two children will be available for $20.
25% of the profit made from the day will be donated to FOWAS.
All dogs are required to be on a lead at all times, vaccinated, socialised and non-aggressive.
It has been kindly asked that visitors bring waste bags with them which can be placed in the receptacles provided.
Water for dogs will be available on the site.
Retford Park is located at 1325 Old South Road, Bowral.
