Bowral defeated Oran Park by 40-12. Nathan Johnson opened the scoring for Bowral with a bustling try. This was converted by Todd Fairburn to take the Blues to a 6-0 lead. The ball control though from the Bowral team was poor during most of the half, allowing Oran Park to score two quick tries and take the lead by 12 points to 6.
A late first half-try to Bowral captain Mark Williams and a successful conversion by Todd Fairburn levelled the scores for a half-time score line of 12 points all.
Running back up towards the clubhouse the Bowral forwards proved difficult to handle.
There were some great runs up front by Jack McRae and Ben Trevisiol, were backed up by Bowral’s hard-running Josh Alcock, to really put Oran Park on the back foot.
Bowral’s outside backs were getting great ball service from half Todd Fairburn.
Ben Lipps was very strong in both attack and defence, and along with Mark Pace continued to pressure the opposition.
Second half-try scorers were Mark Williams, Locky Dickson, Sam Moore, Robbie Purcell and Todd Fairburn.
Fairburn was Bowral’s best on the day kicking six goals from seven attempts to back up his try.
