2018 will see the re-launch of the Supporters of a Southern Highlands Regional Gallery (Sofa SHRG), a not-for-profit group which since 1994, has sought to lobby for a regional gallery in the Southern Highlands.

Bowral and District Art Society’s Lynne Moriarty said the society is very pleased to collaborate with the committee and its members to bring a new arts prize to the Bowral Art Gallery.
“It is hoped that the drawing prize will help further stimulate the arts and attract artists and art lovers from beyond the region,” she said.
Australian artist and printmaker, Tony Ameneiro, will judge the $2000 prize.
A people’s choice award of $500 has been donated by Black Swan Books of Dirty Jane’s Bowral.
Entries are invited for submission by May 2 and can be downloaded at http://www.bdasgallery.com.
The Wingecarribee drawing prize exhibition will open on Friday, May 18 at 6.30pm, at the Bowral Art Gallery, 1 Short Street, Bowral.
It run daily from 10am to 4pm until May 27.
