A man was arrested at Colo Vale on Tuesday for distributing an ‘intimate’ image without consent.

On Tuesday, March 20, a woman reported a privately-held video had been electronically accessed and uploaded to a social media webpage.
Officers from The Hume Police District commenced an investigation and about 10pm on march 20 they attended a home at Colo Vale and arrested a 31-year-old man.
Investigators also seized a computer and several mobile phones.
Police will allege the man was previously involved in a domestic relationship with the woman.
The man was taken to Bowral Police Station and charged with intentionally distribute image without consent.
An apprehended domestic violence order was also applied for and granted.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at Moss Vale Local Court on Tuesday, May 22.
Hume Police District Duty Officer, Chief Inspector Brendan Bernie said there were many things people could do protect themselves becoming a victim of cyber crime.
“Security of your personal information is crucial. Never give out any personal information including your name, home address, phone number, private email address, details of where you work or recreational activities to others,” he said.
“Changes have been made to laws in 2017 to combat the rise in incidents involving the sharing of intimate images of people without their consent.
“Any person who knows of – or is a victim of – image-based abuse is encouraged to report the matter to police.”
