On March 17, a workshop was held to polish their skills. They have been busy practicing for the dance demonstration at Brigadoon, held on Saturday, April 7.
Their demonstration will take place on the oval at 10.15am.
The Southern Highlands Scottish dance group was established 32 years ago. President of the group, Tricia Ashley, said Scottish country dancing is very social, great fun, and good exercise for both the body and mind
“It can be enjoyed by a wide age range and ability level. We all love to dance and have fun. Some dancers enjoy learning the finer points and opportunities are available to increase dancer’s knowledge should they wish,” Tricia said.
“We dance because the music is delightful, it is good socially, it helps with fitness, and it makes our brains work.”
New dancers are most welcomed and encouraged.
On Wednesday nights, beginners gather at Moss Vale Uniting Church, corner of Argyle and Spring streets, from 7pm to 8pm.
It is recommended to bring shoes which are flat. Classes cost $6 per session.
