The sun shone and riding conditions were perfect. The success of the Willo Junior Camps was evident with so many of the Willo Juniors racing in the 25KM and 50KM categories.
Over forty competitiors from Chevalier College were racing, and displayed the huge talent for mountain biking coming from the school.
New for 2018 was the generous support from the Fixed Wheel Bike Shop in Bowral with this iconic event, now in its eight year.
Many members of the Fixed Wheel Race team featured on podiums.
From the Highlands, the Evans family from Moss Vale had an amazing result, with three gold medals – Maizy Evans first in the 25KM U 15 category, Verity Evans, first in the 25KM U17 category and Karen first, taking at first in the 25KM Master female category.
Meaghan Stanton, teacher at Oxley School, came second in the 75KM Female Open category.
Paul Bruce from Berrima came 2 nd in 25KM Master male, with David Johnson from Kangaroo Valley coming in 3 rd in this category.
Cameron Butcher took out the highly competitive first in the 75KM U19 category by just three minutes over Owen Gordon from Sydney. Richard Vollebregt came first in the 75KM Super masters male category and Mike Contre was third in the 50KM Single Speed category.
